The Illawarra Live Steamers is a non-profit organisation that operates a miniature (5") railway across from Stuart Park at North Wollongong, N.S.W., Australia.
On the 4th Sunday of each month (except December) we run our trains, giving rides to the (young at heart) public.
The gates open about 8:30 and trains run from 10:30 until mid afternoon. Each passenger pays for the 4 - 6 minute train trip.
There is no cost to enter our beautiful picnic grounds and use our tables, BBQ's and toilet facilities.
We have a canteen that sells snacks, drinks and ice cream so you won't go hungry.
Safety regulation require EVERYONE riding the trains wears enclosed footwear. Persons in bare feet, thongs, sandals or open toe footwear will NOT be permitted on the train.
We run Steam Trains. They are HOT! They emit smoke, steam, oil, sparks and hot cinders so do not wear good clothes.

It is May. Busy. Busy. Busy. We're working hard around the grounds these days because we have our Hot Pot Run for visiting club members. Generally over 60 locos and 400+ enthusiasts attend. It's one great big steamfest. We like to make sure our grounds are at their pristine best.
